2025 Volunteer Training

Every day, survivors of domestic and sexual violence and unhoused families turn to YWCA Missoula for safety, support, and hope. Our volunteer advocates play an essential role in making that possible.

If you’re looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider joining our next Volunteer Advocate Training. This immersive, hands-on training prepares volunteers to provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to survivors and families across our programs.

Over the course of four weeks, you’ll learn the skills and knowledge needed to:

  • Provide direct support in our emergency shelters
  • Advocate alongside survivors and families as they navigate resources and next steps
  • Support children staying in shelter
  • Help answer our 24-hour crisis line

Training runs September 9 through October 3, with sessions held:

  • Mondays: 5:30–7:30 p.m.
  • Wednesdays: 5:30–7:30 p.m.
  • Saturdays: 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m.

No previous experience is required—just a willingness to listen, learn, and show up for others. Throughout the training, you’ll gain practical skills, connect with experienced advocates, and become part of a community committed to supporting survivors with dignity, compassion, and respect.
