YWCA Missoula has taken an exciting step toward expanding services for survivors of domestic violence and unhoused families. We purchased the former Marchie’s Nursery property, a two-acre site located right next to The Meadowlark. While the future of this space is still taking shape, we know it holds tremendous potential to strengthen our mission and better serve our community. When this neighboring property became available, we knew it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity—one we couldn’t pass up. While we face uncertainty in the current funding landscape, this purchase is an investment in the long-term future of YWCA Missoula and the people we serve. Every day, we see more need than we can meet, and this space opens the door to new possibilities.
What’s Next?
We are entering a discovery phase to explore the best use for this property. Early ideas include:
- Expanding YWCA program space to meet growing community needs
- Developing affordable or transitional housing for families in crisis
- Consolidating our Secret Seconds thrift stores into one larger, more efficient location
We are committed to working with mission-aligned partners to assess the feasibility of these options and ensure that whatever comes next directly benefits those we serve.
How You Can Stay Involved
This is just the beginning of the process, and we will continue to share updates as our plans evolve. In the meantime, we are exploring short-term lease opportunities for the property. If you or your organization are interested, please contact Jen Euell at jeuell@ywcaofmissoula.org.
We are excited about the possibilities this space holds, even as we navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you for your ongoing support. Stay tuned for more updates!
