Introducing YWCA Missoula’s Monthly Book Club

May 14, 2025

We’re excited to announce the launch of YWCA Missoula’s monthly book club, a space for learning, connection, and community conversation. Through powerful stories and diverse voices, we’ll explore issues at the heart of racial and social justice. Whether you’re an avid reader or just looking to dip your toe into something new, we invite you to join us as we explore books that challenge, inspire, and uplift.

When: 4th Wednesday of each month
Time: 6:00–7:00 p.m.
Where: Zoom (link provided upon registration)
Note: No meeting in August

Our first gathering will take place on Wednesday, June 25, and we’re kicking things off with Cousins: Connected Through Slavery, A Black Woman and a White Woman Discover Their Past and Each Other by Betty Kilby Baldwin and Phoebe Kilby. This powerful memoir explores the deep legacy of slavery and the journey of reconciliation between two women from the same family—one Black, one white—who uncover their shared past and build a new relationship rooted in truth and healing.

Register

Each month, we’ll feature a new book and dive into different genres and perspectives. Come as you are, bring your thoughts and reflections, and be part of this welcoming, open dialogue.

All are welcome—you don’t need to finish the book to join the conversation!

Click here to sign up and receive your Zoom link. Questions? Reach out to Chris Young-Greer, chrisyounggreer@ywcaofmissoula.org.

We can’t wait to read with you!
