YWCA Missoula Opens Board Recruitment – Welcoming Diverse Voices to Help Shape Our Future

August 1, 2025

YWCA Missoula is excited to announce that applications are now open for up to five positions on our Board of Directors. Our board members play a critical role in guiding YWCA Missoula’s programs—programs that provide safe shelter, housing support, and vital resources for families escaping domestic and sexual violence. This year’s recruitment is especially significant. For the first time, board service is open to people of all genders, not just women.

BOARD MEMBER APPLICATION

Building a Board That Reflects Our Community

YWCA Missoula is committed to building a board that reflects the diversity of our community. We welcome board members of all genders and diverse lived experiences who share our vision of a safer, more equitable Missoula.

“Expanding our board to include people of all genders strengthens our work,” said Executive Director, Jen Euell. “The challenges we face as a community require collaboration and leadership from people with different perspectives, skills, and backgrounds.”

What We’re Looking For

While we are especially seeking candidates with expertise in fundraising, philanthropy, finance, or accounting, we also value the unique perspectives and skills that come from many different walks of life. If you care deeply about YWCA Missoula’s mission, we encourage you to apply.

Why Join the YWCA Board?

Serving on the YWCA Missoula Board of Directors is more than a volunteer role—it’s an opportunity to:

  • Shape the future of programs that help families rebuild their lives after violence and homelessness

  • Develop leadership skills and gain hands-on experience in nonprofit governance

  • Collaborate with a team of community leaders who are passionate about social change

  • Be an ambassador for equity, justice, and safety in Missoula

Board Commitment

  • Three-year term, beginning January 2026, with the option to renew for additional terms

  • Monthly board meetings (fourth Thursday, 4–6 PM)

  • Participation on at least one committee

  • A willingness to support fundraising and community engagement

How to Apply

Applications will be reviewed by YWCA Missoula’s Nominations Committee, and new members will be elected in December. If you or someone you know is ready to make a difference, click here to apply.

Together, we can build a Missoula where everyone has safety, dignity, and opportunity.
